Spekphone - Two of Huawei's newest cellphones, namely the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro, rolled out at the event titled RewriteTheRules in Paris. France, Tuesday (03/26/2019).

Both have started to be ordered in Indonesia on April 12, 2019.

Both phones have similarities in several aspects, such as carrying a 32 MP selfie camera, powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, in-display fingerprint scanner and running the Android 9.0 Pie operating system coated with EMUI 9.1.

What's the difference?

1. Screen

The first difference is in screen size. Although the regular P30 and P30 Pro have identical resolution and aspect ratios (2,340 x 1,080 pixels, 19.5: 9) the P30 has a smaller screen span (6.1 inches) compared to the Pro version which reaches 6.47 inches.

Although both use the OLED panel, the regular version of the Huawei P30 applies a flat or flat screen design, while the Huawei P30 Pro carries a curved or curved shell, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10 + series.

2. Rear Camera 

On the camera aspect, the Huawei P30 carries a configuration of three rear cameras, while the Huawei P30 Pro carries a configuration of four rear cameras.

The configuration of the three Huawei P30 rear cameras consists of a 40 MP (f / 1.8, wide lens, 16 MP (f / 2.2, ultra-wide) camera, and 8 MP (f / 2.4 telephoto lens).

While the camera configuration of the Huawei P30 Pro each has a 40 MP sensor (f / 1.6, wide lens), 20 MP (f / 2.2, ulta-wide lens), 8 MP (f / 3.4, periscope lens (telephoto), 5x optical zoom), and a 3D ToF camera to measure object distances.

3. RAM and Storage

The RAM and internal memory configurations are also slightly different. In the regular Huawei P30, there is only one variant of the P30, which is with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory.

Huawei P30 Pro itself carries a higher RAM memory, which is 8 GB with a choice of 128 GB of internal memory, 256 GB and 512 GB.

The two internal memory of the cellphone can also expand up to 256 GB, with a nano Memory Card made by Huawei.

4. Battery capacity

Another difference is in the battery capacity, which is 3,650 mAh on the Huawei P30 and 4,200 mAh on the Huawei P30 Pro. then, the P30 Pro's resistance rating to water and dust is IP53, compared to IP68 for the P30 Pro.

5. CONNECTOR

Huawei P30 Pro is also equipped with reverse wireless charging, a feature to charge between phones by sticking it behind the device, while the regular version of P30 does not have this feature.

Unlike the P30 pro which only has a USB type-C connector, the P30 still provides a 3.5 mm audio jack. The available color choices for the Huawei P30 are Twilight, Black, Midnight Blue, and Pink Gold.

6. Price 

The price of the Huawei P30 is set at 799 euros, cheaper than the P30 Pro, which starts at 999 euros.
